EXUVIE - AV SHOW
Exuvie is an audiovisual live performance, expanding the conceptual and sonic universe of Büchi’s album of the same name. The work emerges as a meditation on transformation, memory, and the fragile boundary between what has been lived and what continues to resonate.Derived from the Latin exuviae—what has been shed—Exuvie explores the tension between matter and memory: the traces that remain after change, and the slow, embodied processes through which the body absorbs, remembers, and transforms. Past and present coexist within the mind, their layers constantly blurring. Memories surface as dense, almost physical flashbacks, gradually deforming perception and substance. There is no escape from these internal strata—but there is renewal. Like a liquid skin, the body regenerates, flows, and reshapes itself. The body is only relatively solid; it can take on infinite forms. The brain has no form.

At the center of the visual narrative is dancer Rebeka Mondovics, whose choreography treats the body as a living archive, an ever-shifting vessel in which memory, perception, and space continuously merge. Movement appears as a fleeting imprint of time, carried by a breathing, porous corporeality. In close dialogue with Büchi’s music, sound and gesture form a shared temporal space, opening passages of remembrance and metamorphosis.
The video universe, developed by visual artist Brigitte Faessler, weaves together color, light, and motion into a sensorial visual poetry. Mixing analog and digital techniques, the imagery oscillates between the real and the imaginary, constructing fictional inner landscapes that feel both intimate and uncanny. The aesthetic draws inspiration from the distorted corporeality of Francis Bacon, the dreamlike logic and psychological tension of David Lynch, and the saturated, emotionally charged color worlds of Pedro Almodóvar and Salvador Dalí.

These fragments, both personal and cultural—form an architecture of remembrance: a fragile skin suspended between temporalities.
Exuvie is an immersive experience where sound, movement, and image converge to reflect on impermanence, bodily memory, and the quiet resonance of what is no longer, yet still vibrates.

Does It Still Matter is an intense and immersive audiovisual experience that invites viewers to reflect on the impermanence of our material world and our relationship to our own materiality — the human body. Through a visceral interplay of sound and visuals, the performance explores the processes of transformation and dissolution, drawing attention to the cyclical nature of existence.
This live show is based on Noémi Büchi’s album of the same name, released in May 2024. It marks the culmination of a series of creations exploring the physical nature of sound, following on from Matière and Matter. In Does It Still Matter, her questions the state of our world, which has become increasingly fluid and immaterial.

Does It Still Matter is an intense and immersive audiovisual experience that invites viewers to reflect on the impermanence of our material world and our relationship to our own materiality — the human body. Through a visceral interplay of sound and visuals, the performance explores the processes of transformation and dissolution, drawing attention to the cyclical nature of existence.
This live show is based on Noémi Büchi’s album of the same name, released in May 2024. It marks the culmination of a series of creations exploring the physical nature of sound, following on from Matière and Matter. In Does It Still Matter, her questions the state of our world, which has become increasingly fluid and immaterial.
A central element of Does It Still Matter is the human figure, projected as a giant human being above the performer Joséphine de Weck.
This projection carries an aesthetic power, with its minimalistic approach that is nonetheless intense in its detailed expression. The figure exists in the present moment, making only minimal movements that embody a state of being here and now. Their struggle, mental fluctuations, and subtle motions reflect the challenges of human existence, until the control of so-called "nature" begins to take over, asserting its dominance and transforming the narrative.
Set against a backdrop of environmental disasters and global crises, Does It Still Matter serves as a meditation on impermanence. It challenges audiences to confront the ephemeral nature of existence while offering moments of introspection through the power of sound. Persistent echoes and sonic fragments linger long after the performance, leaving behind a haunting resonance that continues to provoke thought and emotion.
